Eastbourne skies will be lit up at an after-show beach party at this summer’s Airbourne to celebrate 50 years of the Red Arrows.
The party starts at 6pm on Sunday (August 17) and an Arrows-themed firework display will light up the sky at 10pm. Before the display, there will be a music stage on the beach with music, fun and games – hosted by Tom, Nicola and Jack from Heart Breakfast radio show.
The choreographed display, part sponsored by Frontier Fireworks and sponsored by Ansvar Insurance, will feature red, white and blue fireworks in a homage to the iconic RAF team.
Jane Williams, marketing manager at Ansvar Insurance, said, “Airbourne is fantastic for the town and the atmosphere is always buzzing.
“It’s great that the festivities end with a bang and Ansvar are really proud to be sponsoring the firework display this year.”
Chris Verheyden, of Frontier Fireworks, said, “We are delighted that Ansvar Insurance have joined forces with us and Eastbourne Borough Council in what will be an iconic display in the history of Airbourne.
This fast-paced display will be both dramatic and thrilling as we work as a team to deliver a special display to conclude Airbourne 2014 in style.”
Airbourne returns from August 14-17 with the Red Arrows performing every day over the free four-day airshow, and a brand new music stage on the beach, with live music until 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday followed by bandstand concerts each evening.
Eastbourne Borough Council tourism Councillor Carolyn Heaps said, “What a fabulous way to end four days of flying!”
