The head of Sussex Downs Park College has resigned and will be leaving this summer.

The news that principle Tim Whitmore would be leaving the college in Kings Drive came this week.

A Sussex Downs College spokesperson said,“Tim Whitmore, currently head of Sussex Downs Park College, will be leaving the college in the summer.

“Tim has been associated with Sussex Downs College and its predecessor schools and colleges since he was a student at Eastbourne Grammar School for Boys, and has given distinguished service to the local community and the college in a wide variety of roles.

“He has always placed students at the heart of his work - supporting them to achieve their potential and progress through their education to further learning and employment.

“We would like to thank Tim for his commitment and professionalism and wish him all the best for the future.”

The spokesperson said the college will be making arrangements to fill the vacancy left by Mr Whitmore’s departure.

They are expected to release details of the new head of the college once the position is finalised.
