Ticket sales for ‘Aladdin’ at The Barn Theatre in Seaford have smashed all previous records with weekend matinees almost sold out.
The curtain goes up today (Friday) on the traditional pantomime written by Alan Frayne and directed by Sarah Eaton.
The Tourist Information Office in Church Street, Seaford, has been inundated with customers for the UK’s most popular pantomime, with the online site, www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebarntheatre getting heavy traffic.
Popular local singer-songwriter Kate Horscraft promises to be breathtaking as the Genie of the Lamp accompanied by stunning vocals from Aladdin, played by Gemma Clare and Lamiah Davey as Princess Peony.
Family favourite Shar Turnbull returns as lovable Wishy Washy and comedy galore comes courtesy of Widow Twankey, played by John Tester. Boos and jeers will ring round the auditorium for evil magician, Abanazar, played by stage veteran Steve Llewelyn.
The proceeds of Seaford Musical Theatre shows are used to maintain and restore The Barn Theatre, which is also home to Seaford Community Cinema, multi-award winning SMT Juniors young people’s group, touring shows and many fundraising events.
