POLICE officers are appealing for information after an opportunistic thief got into a house through an open window. The burglary at the property in Linden Close, Eastbourne, happened on Sunday June 17 between 2pm and 2.45pm.
Items including a silver Nokia mobile phone and a Packard Bell laptop were stolen from the open lounge window while the owner was sitting in another part of the house.
Detective Constable Phil Cracknell from the East Sussex Priority Crime Team said, “We would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area or has been offered any of the items for sale.
“This appears to have been the work of an opportunistic thief and I would like to remind homeowners not to leave valuable items on display near insecure windows or doors.
“If you have any information that could assist police with their enquiries please call 101 quoting serial 1147 of 17/6 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
