My dream job this week would be to drive the Karma Bus. And the first group of people I would head for is those irresponsible dog owners who think the rules don’t apply to them and they don’t have to pick up after their four-legged friends.
Unfortunately there is no such thing as the dog poo fairy who comes along and cleans up after dogs.
It doesn’t matter where you are in our lovely town there is an abundance of the ghastly stuff on the pavements, on the kerb and on grass verges.
So well done to the mystery dog muck vigilante who is putting flags in piles of muck so people don’t put their foot in it.
I also like Langney resident and my friend Amanda’s efforts to make dog owners realise the rules do apply to them. Fed up with the pathways around West Rise School being used as dog toilets, she spotted a dog walker leaving their dog’s doings behind, offered him a bag and in return had a barrage of abuse hurled at her.
Amanda did what we would all like to do – and as the dog owner continued to rant, she picked up the offending pile of mess and threw it at him!
I stand corrected over my observations that the width of the seafront cycle route was too small.
I gather the real pathway isn’t in the road at all – it’s on the path. Having sorted that out,
I’ll now put some air in the tyres, purchase a loud bell and wait for the sunshine.
Oh hold on. When sharing the pathway, do I keep to the left or the right? And more importantly do the pedestrians get out of my way or do I whizz round them?
A campaign to give the Arndale a new name is proving popular but it appears people aren’t happy with any name associated with the Duke of Devonshire.
Could it be because he sold off the land on Kings Drive to developers for housing I wonder?
