Have your say

It’s that time again when we are all reflecting on the past year and making resolutions for the new one. For many this will probably mean losing weight, getting fit or giving up some vice or other. For others it might mean taking on a new challenge or giving something back to the community.

Here at Chestnut Tree we love a challenge and have plenty of opportunities for you to take one on for yourself. How about a skydive? You can jump at any time of the year and if you raise £395 you jump for free.

If throwing yourself out of a perfectly serviceable plane is not for you, how about our Night to Remember midnight walk on 14th May? Choose between 4 and 10 miles and join hundreds of women walking under the stars to help make every day count for our children and their families.

And if you fancy more of a challenge, there are still places available on our Cambodia Trek. You will spend 9 days trekking through Cambodia with the aim of raising enough money, as a group, to pay for all care services at Chestnut Tree for the whole time you are away.

You can find out more about any of these events at http://www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk/challenge-events/

Alternatively, if volunteering is on your list of things to do in 2016, there are always plenty of opportunities with Chestnut Tree right here in East Sussex. We have shops in Eastbourne, Seaford and Uckfield that are always crying out for volunteers who can give a few hours a week to help sort clothes or serve customers.

We also have events running throughout the county at various times of the year that we need help to run. It may be marshalling for our Night to Remember midnight walk, an awareness stand at a craft fair or cheering on runners in the Eastbourne half marathon. You can choose to volunteer at just one or all of the events, it is completely flexible.

You can see all of the current opportunities and how to apply by visiting http://www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk/get-involved/volunteering/
