For years we have had eateries on Eastbourne seafront where, quite honestly, you would rather eat wet cat food than brave a dish off a laminated menu. So it’s nice to see the doors of the Western View finally opened at the Wish Tower. Okay, it might not be the biggest cafe in the world but it’s a massive improvement on the ghastly canteen that was there before ,the food and drinks are reasonably priced and the lovely Karen Whittall is at the helm as manager. Plus the fact people should remember it is only temporary and in three years’ time Eastbourne should have a first class building on the iconic site. Something like the popular Beach Deck which is at the other end of the seafront would be just right.
Airbourne is fast approaching and all three turret clocks at the front of Eastbourne Pier are still in a shameful state of disrepair. Perhaps it’s time to have a moan up to the Pier owners.
I had to venture to Polegate this week to Hobbs Recovery Services to collect some property which was in one of our office cars which had been involved in an accident. Seeing all the smashed up written off cars it made me think it might be an idea to round up all the boy racers and people who continuously drink and drive, take them to Hobbs and show them what their vehicles could look like after their “couple” of pints in the pub goes wrong or tearing down the dual carriageway unnecessarily. That would learn them.
Finally this week, seeing as children can’t legally go out to work in these politically correct times and sadly the days of sending them up chimneys are long gone, I shall be spending next week in Costa del Eastbourne with the Little Treasures. See you in two weeks.
