It’s carnival time! Last year’s carnival was amazing and I’m so excited that it’s coming back again this weekend. I’ve been told it’s going to be even bigger and even better this time!
The theme this year is ‘Rio by the Sea’. I’ve never been to Brazil but I’ve seen pictures and videos and it looks like so much fun! Everybody is really happy and dancing to groovy music with bright and colourful clothes and costumes. The Bishop Bell Samba Band will be in the procession and there’s some steel drums to help bring the sound of Rio to Eastbourne.
I tried to organise a puppy parade to take part alongside the carnival procession but I came across a little problem... Dogs can’t drive the bus!
So, instead, I will be walking along the route with my mummy and daddy and saying hello to all you Chipsters who come along to enjoy the show as well.
I’ve been told two of my friends, Barnaby Bee and Henrietta Hippo, are having a carnival competition!
They are going to see who can get the most selfies with people in the crowd during the parade, so make sure you keep your eyes out for both of them.
If you have your picture taken with Barnaby or Henrietta, make sure you get your mummy or daddy to upload it to the carnival’s Facebook page or on Twitter using the hashtag #EBCarnival.
Also, don’t forget to send all your carnival photos to me – I would love to see how you enjoyed the show.
Remember Chipsters, the carnival starts at the Western Lawns at 4pm on Saturday.
Let’s keep our fingers, toes and paws crossed for lots of lovely sunshine but don’t forget your coats and umbrellas just in case it rains.
I hope you have a wonderful day – I know I will!
