Crime writer Sheila Bugler is preparing to celebrate the publication of her second novel The Waiting Game.
The author’s first novel Hunting Shadows was published last year to wide-acclaim and she hopes to build on this success and also reach out to new readers.
The Irish writer, who moved to Eastbourne in 2013, said, “I’m really excited right now. Becoming a published writer is a dream come true and I never take it for granted.
“My first novel was widely promoted in Ireland but I didn’t get the chance to do as much here in the UK. Now I’ve got to know Eastbourne a little better, I’m hoping to change that. It’s one of the reasons the book launch will take place in Eastbourne instead of Ireland. I’ve met a lot of lovely people since we moved here and I hope everyone who enjoyed the first book will like this one too.”
Described as a complex, psychological thriller, The Waiting Game is the second in a series of crime novels featuring DI Ellen Kelly. The book will be on sale in bookshops from September 29.
The official launch for The Waiting Game will take place in Tome Bookshop, 226 Terminus Road on Friday October 17 at 6pm. The event is open to everyone and Sheila said it would be a perfect opportunity to meet the author and find out more about her work.
