Nurse Pauline retires after 39 years in NHS

Pauline Rush has retired after 39 years nursing in the NHS. She trained and has spent the whole of her nursing career working at various hospitals in Eastbourne.

More recently she was Head of Nursing and Clinical Governance for the private patients Michelham Unit at Eastbourne DGH.

Pauline said, “I have enjoyed my time in nursing immensely and will miss my colleagues but most importantly I will miss our patients.”

Stuart Welling, Trust Chairman, presented Pauline with a gift from her colleagues and said, “We are saying goodbye to a very good friend and colleague.

“From student to staff nurse, ward sister to manager you have always strived to achieve, worked hard and given your all. You have always been a confident, professional, sensitive person an advocate for your patients and your staff. You will be missed and we wish you a happy retirement. ”
