When the Langney float topped carnival

Eastbourne Carnival 1975

Eastbourne Carnival 1975

MORE carnival memories have been sent in to the Herald and these photographs are of the Langney Club’s float in 1975.

The club won the best overall entry in the carnival that year. Doreen Clements is in the photographs with the winning trophy.

Among those in the photographs are Lynda Davis, Samantha Baulcomb, Louisa Gasparetto, Mark Dawson and Doreen Clements.

Also sent in to the Herald offices this week are these two photographs of the Eastbourne Carnival in 1957.

David Visick sent them and says Jim Law, the proprietor of Stubberfields in South Street at the time, is on top of the unicycle but he is not sure who the float belonged to.

Do you know or do you recognise yourself in the photograph?

The Herald still wants to hear from people about their carnival memories and would love to see some old photographs.

Send yours to Eastbourne Carnival Memories, Eastbourne Herald, Berkeley House, 26 Gildredge Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4SA, or email them to annemarie.field@trbeckett.co.uk
