Volunteers from Newhaven’s RNLI Lifeboat Station were launched in the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) morning to a fishing vessel which had nets snagged around its propellers.
The team went out at 4.02am to the twelve meter commercial vessel which was seven miles south of Newhaven.
When Newhaven’s Severn Class Lifeboat David and Elizabeth Acland arrived on scene the fishing vessel had already cut the nets away.
A tow line was passed to the fishing vessel which had three people on-board.
Newhaven Lifeboat’s volunteer crew then towed the fishing vessel into the safety of the harbour and the fishing vessel was then placed on the north end of the marina fuel barge.
