The new temporary Wish Tower Cafe is due to open its doors in two weeks time.
Workmen are putting the finishing touches to the eatery which will be known as the Western View in time for the opening on Monday July 22.
The cafe is expected to remain in place for at least two years while Eastbourne Borough Council continues its search for an innovative and permanent building to replace the old Wish Tower Cafe and Sun Lounge, which had to be demolished after falling into a state of disrepair.
Since the original building was demolished, a state of the art Airstream style vehicle has been providing refreshments at the seafront location but the new temporary building will replace that and it will be used elsewhere across the town at future events.
Annie Wills from the council’s tourism and leisure department said work was progressing well on Western View, which will have 26 inside seats and more than 100 seats outside.
It will open between 10am and 6pm, offer hot and cold light bites and will be licensed.
