Residents of Eastbourne will start learning more about the town’s new waste collection and recycling service this week.
A leaflet explaining exactly what will change is being mailed to all households, and a team of doorstep advisors will be visiting homes to answer any questions about the service.
Some residents may have already noticed a change in the way recyclable materials are collected as crews are no longer separating recyclables at the kerbside. The council is keen to assure residents that all materials are still being recycled, much of it locally, using state of the art recycling facilities which separate the materials at a central site. The council’s doorstep teams will be carrying identification and will not need to enter people’s homes. Anyone concerned can call Eastbourne Borough Council on 410000.
Cllr Steve Wallis said, “The council has always been committed to boosting recycling levels locally.”
