THE Eastbourne Care for the Carers charity has announced the appointment of Jennifer Twist as the charity’s new CEO.
Jenny Ballard, chair, said, “We were delighted to appoint Jennifer to the position of Chief Executive Officer. The Board and I are looking forward to working with her and developing our services and responding to local carers’ needs.”
One in 10 of us look after a loved one who could not manage without our help, and this can be life changing. For many it means leaving work provide full time care, which can affect their own health and wellbeing.
Based in Eastbourne, Care for the Carers helps with practical support and advice as well as championing carers’ rights.
Jennifer was previously the charity’s partnerships manager and has worked with East Sussex carers over the last six years. She said, “It is a pleasure to be part of an organisation that makes a very real difference to carers’ lives.
“I’m looking forward to helping Care for the Carers to continue to offer high quality support to people when they really need it.”
Roger Strange-Burlong, a carer from Hampden Park and Chair of the East Sussex Carers’ Forum, said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to see Jennifer Twist become the Chief Executive of Care for the Carers. I cannot think of a person more dedicated to carers.”
