New Asda store set to open in Hailsham
ASDA has announced plans to open a new supermarket in Hailsham.
The store will be based in the Quintins Shopping Centre on the site of Co-op supermarket which closed in September 2011.
“Significant improvements” are promised including new customer lifts, refurbishment of the store, improvements to the car park surface and the installation of new lighting to the undercroft parking area.
ASDA has said estimated the new store will create up and is due to open in the autumn.
It will have a sales area of 19,500 sq ft and will stock a wide range of food and non-food goods, including George clothing.
Oliver Jones, senior property communications manager for ASDA, said, “We are delighted to be coming to Hailsham and to be bringing this vacant store back to use.
“ASDA is committed to being at the heart of the communities it serves and we hope that the new jobs will be an important boost to the local economy.
“This store will have all our usual products, including our George clothing, all at our famous low prices.
“An exact opening date and more information about applying for jobs will follow soon.”
