Two shops in town celebrated Record Store Day with a host of live music performances on Saturday, April 18.

The Vinyl Frontier, which has opened a new store on Grove Road, marked the international event with performances from David Ford, Bosco Rogers, Jake Isaac, Pete Wiggs of Saint Etienne and Steve Mason from The Beta Band.

Pebble Records, on Gildredge Road, also celebrated the occasion with live music from Squeeze’s Cliff Difford, as well as tea and cake for its customers.

Both stores were also selling limited edition releases that were only available at participating record shops on the day. The event is intended to celebrate independent record stores.
