Motorists could face delays in Eastbourne as work begins on a busy town road.

A set of temporary traffic lights has been set-up on Willingdon Road at the junctions with Beverington Road and Saxon Place.

The work, which is to replace a gas main, began on Monday (January 4) and will continue for several weeks until work finishes on Monday, January 25.

Work has also begun on the next stretch of the Horsey Way cycle trail seeing delays near the railway station.

Susans Road will be closed near the junction of Ashford Road until March 11 while the work continues.

A set of temporary traffic lights is also in place near the closure.

The work, to patch the carriageway on Ashford Road, will see temporary lights in place until Tuesday, January 12.

Another set of temporary lights will open on Kings Drive near the junction with Woodland Avenue from January 18 to January 20.

Buxton Road in Meads will also be closed next week for a major gas line refit.

The road will be closed from Monday, January 11, until February 8.
