The motorcyclist who died after his green Kawasaki ZR800 was in collision with a farm tractor and trailer on the A27 at Ashcombe, near Lewes, has been named.

He was Rene Weise, aged 31, a German man who lived in Alice Street, Hove.

He died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at around 6.30pm on Thursday last week (August 6).

The tractor was driven by a 20-year-old man from Plumpton, near Lewes.

The crash closed the eastbound dual carriageway between Falmer and Lewes for several hours.

Police are still appealing for anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

They are asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Principal.
