A MOTORCYCLIST crashed into a car in Eastbourne, somersaulting into the road and is thought to have broken his leg.

The biker, believed to be in his late 20s, flew over the handle bars of his red Honda motorbike when he collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra in Seaside Road at around 2.15pm on Thursday (December 9). The car’s front grill caved in and the bike careered into a white Land Rover Sport parked outside Coral betting shop.

Police Constable Mark Fowler of the Polegate Road Policing Unit said the biker had a suspected fractured leg and had been taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.

“He somersaulted and landed on the road while the motorbike rebounded off the front of the Land Rover,” said PC Fowler

The driver of the Astra was breathalysed at the scene but he had not drunk any alcohol.

Police are appealing for witnesses, call 0845 6070999, extension number 11626.
