More police on the street in ‘All Out Days’ plan

An initiative to test and strengthen the operational resilience of Sussex Police launches today (Friday, August 8) with the first of a series of ‘All Out Days’.

Aimed at ensuring the best possible response to the demands placed on the force by a major or critical incident, officers who usually work in less visible areas, such as staff training, professional standards and command teams, will be supporting frontline colleagues with the added benefit of enhanced visibility out on the streets of Sussex.

They will be carrying out a variety of roles including attending and investigating burglaries and supporting road safety campaigns, giving officers an opportunity to refresh their skills and gain experience of working in areas of policing they wouldn’t normally work in, helping to build a multi-skilled workforce. It is hoped that the ‘All Out Days’ will become a regular occurrence and the force can identify good practice.
