A FUNERAL has been held in Eastbourne for a 27-year-old man who fell to his death from a bridge in Dubai.
Elliot Lintott, a digital sales manager for Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC), is thought to have stumbled over the lip of an unfinished bridge in Dubai Marina after leaving a concert in the early hours of March 19.
A memorial service was held at Eastbourne Crematorium on Friday, and afterwards guests gathered at the Cavendish Hotel.
Mr Lintott, who is believed to have moved out to the United Arab Emirates some years ago, fell 16 feet from the uncompleted bridge. He was discovered dead later that morning.
Reports from The National newspaper in Abu Dhabi said Dubai police had ruled out suspicious circumstances. They said Mr Lintott must have lost his balance and fallen.
More than a dozen bouquets of flowers and tribute cards were left on the bridge, according to the newspaper.
A Mass was held for Mr Lintott at Christ the King Catholic Church in Princes Road, Eastbourne, on April 1.
His mother, Fiona Lintott, of Eastbourne, posted on social networking site Facebook, “It was very special and some wonderful memories and stories were shared.”
The NHS personal assistant has been inundated with messages of sympathy.
Commercial director of ADMC’s digital media group Johny Giacaman told The National, “Elliot was a lovely character, always laughing, always had a positive attitude.
“He often came into my office just to say hello.
“It was a shock to all of us and hard to digest. He was very creative and I trusted his judgement.
“He delivered great work.”
