EASTBOURNE has its own style of Fifty Shades of Grey writer.
Harry Pope writes under the name of Harry Blue and sells his two electronic books, Hot Vegas and Hot Hits on Amazon.
He says the erotic novels are along similar lines to Fifty Shades of Grey, the best-selling book by English author E L James, which has become a worldwide success.
Hot Vegas is about lottery winners who go on a holiday of a lifetime, getting on the wrong side of the mafia, the FBI, and a bunch of Australian crooks who use a rock band as their cover and Hot Hits is set in a south coast seaside town with the 21-year-old hero Roger, whose new girlfriend plays in a silver band.
Harry, who lives with his wife Pam in Eastbourne, also writes under his own name and has penned three books entitled How Not to Run a Hotel, How Not to run the Same Hotel and a children’s book The Brick Monster.
He is also a travel writer, writing mostly about the UK, but also about other destinations, especially favourite locations Madeira and the USA.
In addition, Harry is a member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists, which admitted men as associates in 2004, the International Travel Writers Alliance, writes regular features for the 60,000 member web site www.sixtyplusurfers.co.uk and started writing some time ago for www.silvertraveladvisor.co.uk, becoming a featured advisor closely associated with Age UK.
In the 1980s he wrote gags for Who Do You Do at London Weekend Television, Radio 4’s Weekending and since moving to Eastbourne in 2003, joined his local writers’ circle, becoming competition secretary, newsletter editor, and chairman for two years.
