MAYOR Carolyn Heaps took time out of her busy schedule and visited the children of Motcombe Community Infant School for a tour of their new community learning facility, The Butterfly Rooms.

The rooms will accommodate after-school clubs, an internet cafe, community and school meetings and family and adult learning. They will be officially opened by the mayor in the autumn term and special events for this grand opening are underway.

Head Jane Midwinter said, “Motcombe School aims to improve the quality of life for children and their families and the new facility can more easily help to achieve this through swift and easy access to activities, family learning and community support.

“Breakfast Club will start from September 2011 with the new kitchen and equipment for the club supplied by the Friends of Motcombe. The school has already made links with the new Old Town Children’s Centre, based at Ocklynge Junior School, and other local organizations.

The Butterfly Rooms are also available to hire and further information is available from the school’s business manager Gill Bradshaw on Eastbourne 728901.
