Mayor of Polegate and his deputy take role for second year

The mayor and deputy mayor of Polegate have been re-elected to stand for another year.

Both Cllr Malcolm Cunningham (pictured right) and Cllr John Harmer were re-elected for the roles.

The re-election, by the fellow Polegate Town Councillors, took place at the Annual Statutory Meeting which was held at the town council offices at the end of May.

Town Councillors re elected Cllr Malcolm Cunningham for the year.

Cllr Cunningham accepted the Mayoral role by thanking the councillors for supporting him during an ‘interesting but personally difficult year’.

Cllr Cunningham said he had enjoyed his time as mayor so far and was looking forward to the year ahead.

He said “I am looking forward to fulfilling my role as Mayor of Polegate again this year.

“There are already many civic events to attend for this coming year.”

The town council also welcomed Cllr John Harmer who was re-elected as deputy mayor for another year.
