A man was stabbed in the stomach during a brutal robbery in Eastbourne town centre last night (Tuesday, July 28).

The 39-year-old victim was walking along Seaside Road just after midnight when he was approached by two men.

The pair pulled him to the ground and kicked him repeatedly before stealing a silver chain from around his neck and a smart phone.

But it wasn’t until the man woke up at home later that morning that he realised he had been stabbed in the abdomen.

He called an ambulance and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Susan Simons of Sussex Police said: “The two suspects are described as white, with short dark hair and were wearing dark clothing.

“If you saw anything please email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 0572 of 28/07.”
