The man who was hit by a train at Polegate Railway Station on Saturday morning has been named by police as Nicholas John Grove, of The Stringwalk, Hailsham.

Forty-seven-year-old Mr Grove was hit by an early morning Ashford to Brighton train.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The station was closed as investigators from British Transport Police and Sussex Police questioned witnesses and the driver.

A bus replacement service ferried passengers between Eastbourne and Lewes.
