Witnesses are being asked to come forward after an assault on a white man in his early 20s who was attacked in Eastbourne at the weekend.

The incident happened in Willingdon Road in the early hours of Sunday November 8.

The victim, from Hailsham, was walking home from a night out when the assault took place between 2am and 4am.

His assailants are believed to have been two men. He was punched and knocked to the ground, suffering swelling to his right eye and bruising to his back.

PC Chris Ruff said, “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this unprovoked attack on a man who was simply trying to walk home after a night out with friends.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 567 of 08/11.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
