A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking after a six-car crash in Eastbourne.
The man was arrested after a crash in Grand Parade at around 12.45pm last Wednesday (May 25).
Police say several people were injured in the crash, which happened close to the junction with Howard Square. They received treatment at the roadside from both South East Coast Ambulance personnel and members of the London Ambulance Service who were in Eastbourne on a training exercise.
Two of the injured were taken to hospital for treatment but later released.
PC Dan Cloake of Eastbourne Police said, “A man was seen running from the scene but was detained by an off-duty police officer. We’d like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or the man running away.”
