Man accused of threatening to kill someone with a knife in Polegate

A 40-year-old man was allegedly armed with a knife when he ‘threatened to kill’ someone.

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident in Polegate on July 15, Officers were called to an address in Bay Tree Lane just before 1pm by a 47-year-old man.

Later that evening, they attended another address in Polegate and arrested a 40-year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion of threatening a person with a blade in a public place. He has been bailed until October 22.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley said, “We would like to speak with anyone who was near Bay Tree Lane on Friday afternoon and who saw or heard anything suspicious.

“Witnesses can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.ukor call 101 quoting reference 803 of 15/07.”
