The Long Man Morris Men have raised even more funds for Eastbourne’s RNLI.
The morris dancing group has long supported Eastbourne Lifeboats and it looks as if 2013 will be no exception.
They have started the year by donating £650 to the charity’s fundraising branch of the RNLI.
This money was collected at last year’s Wassail, the Victorian Christmas event at Alfriston and from their Boxing Day collection at Eastbourne Bandstand.
Derek Legg, branch secretary, accepted the cheque from the Long Man Morris recently.
Mr Legg said the money would be used for the town’s new Tamar Lifeboat, Diamond Jubilee, which arrived in the summer.
Each year Long Man have made a donation to the local RNLI branch.
Their contributions over the years amount to more than £15,000.
Mr Legg said, “Eastbourne Lifeboats are grateful for their continouous support.”
