A body found at the foot of cliffs near Belle Tout Lighthouse at the weekend is believed to be that of a 65-year-old man from south London.
Coastguards recovered the body of the man after it was spotted at 4.40pm on Saturday (April 11).
A police spokesperson said the death is not being treated as suspicious and coroners officers are continuing enquiries.
“A postmortem has taken place and an inquest has been formally opened and adjourned,” said the spokesperson. “The body is believed to be that of a 65-year old man from South London.”
