Water buffalo which were moved to a temporary home due to stormy conditions are now on display for the public to see at Middle Farm.
The animals had been feeling the effects of the torrential rain and heavy winds and the decision was made last month to move the three adults and two calves to pastures new.
Middle Farm had kindly offered a barn for the water buffalo to reside in free of charge and currently visitors entering the open farm area there can see a mother and calf enjoying their temporary new home.
It was third time lucky for the team at West Rise Marsh when they rounded up the group for them to be taken to Middle Farm. Two previous attempts failed but on the third occasion the animals were transferred successfully.
The water buffalo belong to West Rise Junior School and form part of the children’s Bronze Age studies.
