Two injured after three-car crash in Hailsham

Two people were taken to hospital after a three-car collision outside the Hillier Garden Centre between Hailsham and Stone Cross on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the B2104 Hailsham Road at around 4.10pm on Thursday, January 2 after a red Daewoo, a silver Mercedes Benz and a red Honda collided.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, with crews from Eastbourne and Pevensey releasing two people from their vehicles.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz, a 53-year-old woman, and the driver of the Honda, a 53-year-old man, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment to injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

A 27-year-old woman driving the Daewoo and a 60-year-old man who was a passenger in the Mercedes Benz were not injured.

The road was closed for almost two hours while emergency services were at the scene.
