A group of knitters from Eastbourne have been clicking away and making squares for wool blankets to raise money for homeless people.

The friends held the knitathon, part of a national event organised by The Big Issue magazine, in Langney at the home of Nadine Harris and those taking part included Sylvia Christie, Pat Hutton, Wendy Whippy and Andrea Jackson.

The target was to raise money for homeless people and try and beat the record for the biggest blanket ever knitted.

Ten people knitted 93 squares and raised £195.
