Swinging start to Eastbourne Festival

Waiting for Video...

The Eastbourne Festival launch enjoyed a swinging start at Towner on Wednesday as cabaret singer Forget-Me-Not entertained more than 100 artists, artistes and guests with Cole Porter songs while Barefoot Wines dispensed pink fizz. After welcoming all, festival co-director Victor Potter invited talented young local artist Victoria Brook to present prizes to the winner and co-finalists in the festival brochure design competition: Nadya Boboshko (Eastbourne College) Flossie Doak and Leo Vanbenthem (Cavendish School). The children were thrilled when given not only cash prizes, but goodie bags donated by Eastbourne retailers. The free Eastbourne Festival brochure with Nadya’s distinctive design is available throughout the town and with today’s Eastbourne Herald at WHSmith Terminus Road.
