The launch of the Towner’s Big Art Secret event in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice was toasted in style on Friday.
Celebrities and hundreds of contributors from the local community have so far donated pieces of art for the Big Art Secret in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Among the famous names is comedian Ronnie Corbett and his family, who have submitted five pieces.
Others taking part include Grayson Perry, David Dimbleby, Graham Norton, actor Tom Conti, Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger, TV meteorologist Kaddy Lee-Preston, Andrew Marr, Chris Difford of pop band Squeeze, Ranulph Fiennes, David Cameron, Nick Clegg, George Osborne, Minister of Education Michael Gove and actor Matt Berry.
The Big Art Secret exhibition at the Towner runs until Sunday March 23.
The donated works of art are available to buy at auction via eBay from Friday March 14.
