Cavendish School took to the Winter Garden last Wednesday in a mass celebration of their students’ achievements.
More than 200 students were awarded certificates and vouchers for continued progress and attainment in subjects across the curriculum throughout the school year.
The evening was sponsored by the Cavendish Charitable Trust, which said it was pleased to be awarding so many prizes to a huge number of hardworking and engaged young people.
The evening included two outstanding performances from the musical department, noting the talents of many of their young people.
Grace O’Malley’s interpretation of Feeling Good accompanied by the school orchestra had the audience on their feet.
Special guest for the evening was John Young from the BBC South East news programme who led with an interactive presentation, making use of a teleprompter to help students identify the importance of achievement.
Elsewhere, Cavendish School excelled in their recent London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art examinations.
The examinations test performance skills with 12 students passing with distinction and one with a merit.
