The search gets underway this week to find the 2014 carnival royalty.
Organisers of the seafront spectacular at the end of the month are looking for a carnival queen and princess to take part in the procession.
It is on Saturday May 30 at 4pm and will make its way along the seafront from the Western Lawns to Princes Park.
Last year thousands of people lined the route to watch floats, marching bands, drummers and individual artists.
Thousands of pounds were raised for charity through bucket collections on the night.
As in previous years the Eastbourne Gazette & Herald are leading the search for the carnival queen and princess.
The competition is open to girls and young women from Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
There is no lower or upper age limit but successful candidates must be available on the day of the carnival and for publicity shots in the run up to the seafront procession.
Carnival royalty hopefuls or their parents can send photographs and brief details to firstname.lastname@example.org or send them by post to Carnival Royalty Search, Eastbourne Herald, Berkeley House, 26 Gildredge Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4SA.
The closing date for entries is Monday May 12.
Last year’s carnival royalty were teenager Lucy Murphy and Paige Stockton who were chosen by a panel of judges.
The judges will make their decision by Thursday May 15 and the winners will be announced on Friday May 16 in the Eastbourne Herald.
