A number of schools across the town will be closed on Thursday (July 10) as part of a national day of strike action.
The National Union of Teachers, along with other public sector workers in Unison, Unite and GMB, will stage walkouts as part of ongoing disputes with the government.
That includes firefighters, local government workers and other civil servants fighting over a range of issues including attacks on pay and pensions and workloads.
The majority of state schools will either be closed or partially closed.
The Fire Brigade Union said its strike will last between 10am and 7pm, Eastbourne Fire Station will be closed and small contingency crews will be on duty.
A spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said, “We will still respond to emergencies, prioritising incidents where lives may be at risk, but cover will be reduced.”
