MOTORISTS in Eastbourne are enjoying a smoother ride after the completion of work on a road junction in the town.

East Sussex County Council last week completed its resurfacing of sections of Dittons Road, Rattle Road, Hailsham Road and Lion Hill.

The work was completed within the expected four-day period, avoiding rush hour times to minimise the impact on traffic.

Cllr Carl Maynard, lead member for transport and environment at East Sussex County Council, said, “We’d like to thank motorists for their patience while this work was carried out.

“Hopefully drivers will agree the junction is greatly improved and the result is a safer, smoother road for years to come.”
