The Residents’ Association of Chyngton Estate (RACE) in Seaford has folded.

Amongst its achievements were running a youth club and football team and campaigning for improvements to the park and communal gardens.

The group donated its remaining funds of £1,500 to Making Magical Moments and Seaford Tree Wardens.

Making Magical Moments is a Seaford dementia support project providing support and group sessions for people with dementia, mental health issues or older people.

Wendy Morley, from the charity, said: “We have already used some of the funds to provide a day at the seaside for nine of our clients. We also plan to provide entertainers for our weekly group sessions.” Call Wendy on 07759370090.

Seaford Tree Wardens raise funds to plant and help maintain new trees. Money will be used to plant more trees in the Chyngton area.

Jenny and Walter Tillyard said: “We like to work with the community to involve them in choosing a location and then planting and maintaining new trees.” Visit http://seafordtreewardens.wordpress.com
