Hundreds of people attended the consultation on the proposed new cycle routes for Eastbourne at the Town Hall last week.

Both Eastbourne Borough Council and East Sussex County Council are currently asking for the public’s views on the new paths.

The proposed new routes are the Railway Station to Ringwood Road, Lottbridge Drove to Langney roundabout, along the Promenade from the Wish Tower to Fisherman’s Green, the seafront to town centre via Cornfield Road, the University (Meads) to seafront and town centre and Eastbourne DGH to town centre via Commercial
Road.

The most controversial is the seafront route which could potentially mean cyclists and pedestrians sharing the middle promenade of the seafront for the first time ever.

People have until the end of the month to give their views and an online questionnaire is also available at www.eastsussex.gov.uk/haveyoursay
