A spate of break-ins has prompted Sussex Police to warn car owners to take extra care over security.

Several cars were broken into on Juniper Close, Willow Drive and Rodmell Road between 4am and 4.30am on Thursday August 28.

Three men wearing dark hoodies were seen running from the area.

“We think that up to six vehicles were entered, though it seems in only two cases was anything stolen,” said sergeant Stuart Mullins.

And he warned car owners to always lock their vehicles, no matter where they are left, even if only for a short period of time.

“It appears these vehicles were insecure and that the suspects had been trying door handles in the surrounding area.”

Anyone with information about Thursday’s crimes is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101. Alternatively they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
