Police are appealing for witnesses after a Tesco delivery driver was robbed and beaten in Hailsham.
The 23-year-old had pulled over for a phone call and was then robbed by a group of people, thought to be five men, and punched in the head by two of them.
The incident happened in Western Road at around 4.50pm on Monday (February 3). Two of the group entered his cab, stole his keys and tried to steal other items but then scattered in different directions without taking anything else.
The driver was treated for bruising and cuts to his head and body.
Four of the suspects are described as white. One was described as 5’10”, skinny, with dark short hair wearing a light coloured hoody, and a silver watch, with a tattoo with the number 95 in dark italic font bordered with a frame of the same colour although the ink was turning slightly green, on his upper right arm.
A second suspect was 6’0”, skinny, in his early 20s, with light brown hair and side burns to half way down his cheeks, wearing a white, red and beige Burberry style check hoody and light green jogging bottoms.
Suspect three was described as in his late teens, 6’0”, and skinny, wearing a dark top and light trousers with short brown hair. He spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.
The fourth man was 5’10”, of chunky build, aged 18 to 20, with ginger brown, scruffy hair, wearing a blue hoody, light jogging bottoms and white skate shoes.
