Controversial UKIP leader Nigel Farage was in Eastbourne today (Saturday) for the annual south east party conference.
Mr Farage was given a standing ovation at the Winter Garden by more than 1,200 delegates.
He was joined on stage by recently elected MEP Diane James.
After a 20 minute speech he went next door to the Bucaneer Pub for lunch and later did a meet and greet at a special lunch upstairs in the Winter Garden with party delegates.
Mr Farage said he was no stranger to Eastbourne and was delighted at the recent success of the party when UKIP took the majority of votes at the polls in Eastbourne and also in last year’s East Sussex County Council elections when candidates came second in seven of the nine wards in the town.
