The next meeting of the Department of Transport’s A27 Reference Group will be held in Eastbourne on August 7.
The group has been set up to oversee the Department’s review of options to improve the troublesome sections across the A27 and ensure that stakeholders’ views are being taken into account.
Stephen Lloyd MP said, “I am delighted our A27 campaign continues on course and that the next meeting of the Reference Group, run by the Department for Transport, is to be held in Eastbourne. This was something I asked for, so I’m pleased the Department has agreed.
“It is important the other members of the committee wholly understand just how grim the A27 from Lewes to Eastbourne is, particularly at the pinch points at rush hour. With the meeting being held at 9am, the Reference Group will have the dubious pleasure of experiencing our section of the A27 at rush hour.”
