There will be a nautical themed day of free activities on Saturday July 12 in Seahouses Square on Eastbourne seafront.
The Devonshire West Big Local team has organised the community event to bring local people together for family fun and seaside antics while raising the profile of the Lottery-funded project to spend £1 million on improving the area.
There will be live music throughout the day, including sea shanties sung by local folk trio Hard Pressed, and Adele tribute act Helen Ward-Jackson. The YMCA Music Group and Bourne To Sing Choir will also perform. Activities will include fishy games, art and craft, story telling and dressing up, including make-your-own props and accessories for young mermaids and mariners. The day is from 10am until 4pm in the pedestrianised area outside Fusciardi’s and Thayer’s and includes a trail along to Leaf Hall’s summer party.
