Our Dancing Feet, a theatrical spectacle celebrating the history of the Winter Garden – the music, the fashions, the dancing – will be held on March 22-23.
Our Dancing Feet is inspired by local people’s memories and stories of the dance halls of their youth and includes film projections, stunning dance sequences and fabulous frocks; and the big band, swing music sounds of the era.
It is performed by a professional cast with more than 50 dancers from the local community.
Written and conceived by Sara Clifford (A Thousand Days, The Port, the Beast and the Traveller) and directed by Terry O’Donovan (Dante or Die, TOOT). Performed by Jean Trend & the Ragroof Players, choreographed by Dorothy Max Prior and designed by Lucy Bradridge (Spymonkey, Company FZ).
Projections by Shared Space and Light; sound installation by Thor McIntyre Burnie. Co-produced by Veronica Stephens, Zap Art and Sara Clifford, Inroads Productions.
The performance unfolds in the spectacular Grade II listed Winter Garden, passing through the flock wallpapered foyer, up the grand staircases and in its two spectacular ballrooms - the Floral Hall and the Gold Room.
Our Dancing Feet performances are free, but tickets must be booked in advance from the theatre box office. Tel: 412000; Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
