More than 100 enjoy festive lunch

Rotary's Alone at Christmas

Rotary's Alone at Christmas

The annual Alone at Christmas party organised by the Rotary Club of Eastbourne took place at the Our Lady of Ransom church hall on Christmas Day.

More than 100 Christmas lunches were served by Rotary club members, wives and helpers to local residents who would otherwise have been completely alone on December 25.

Organiser and Rotarian Christine Haniver said the day ran smoothly thanks to the weather and the help of all those who gave up a large portion of their Christmas Day to make this event possible.

President Joe Smedley said guests had a great time with entertainment and bingo after lunch and were returned to their homes right across the Eastbourne district by Rotarians driving minibuses and cars.
